Since opening at Journal Square Urby, BRBQ has quickly become a cornerstone of the Jersey City food scene. Located within Journal Square Urby at 532 Summit Avenue directly across from the Journal Square PATH station, BRBQ brings a thoughtful, chef-driven dining experience to Urby residents and neighbors alike.

A New Concept from Jersey City Culinary Leaders
BRBQ is the latest concept from the team behind Jersey City favorites DOMODOMO and ONDO. While their downtown ventures mastered Japanese and modern Korean refined dining, BRBQ brings a "vibrant café energy" to Journal Square. As chef and co-owner Brian Kim explains, “Our goal with BRBQ was to create something unique, but still incredibly comforting. We’re taking the deep, charred flavors of wood-fire grilling and pairing them with Korean elements we love, from galbi marinades to gochujang and fermented ingredients that add depth and complexity. The result is familiar but unexpected, and we’re excited to finally share it with the community.”

On the Menu
Whether you’re stopping in for a casual lunch or an elevated dinner, the menu highlights the versatility of wood-fired cooking. Signature dishes include: Kimchi Fried Rice, La Galbi, Bimbim Hot Stone Bowl, and more.

A Space for Residents + Neighbors
Beyond the food, BRBQ creates a welcoming, energetic space that extends the culture of Journal Square Urby. Its wood-accented interiors, neon textures, buzzing lounge atmosphere, and full bar make it a go-to spot for casual hangs, date nights, or a quick solo meal.
